Consists of three parts:

Individual Long Turn: Candidates speak on a particular topic for 1-2 minutes, followed by a discussion with the examiner.
Two-Way Discussion: Conversation with the examiner on broader topics related to Part 2.

Total Time:

Reading Section: 

Similar to the Listening section, the Reading section also contains 40 questions.

Your raw score is converted to a band score using a specific scale, different for Academic and General Training versions.

For Academic IELTS, scoring might look like this:

• 39-40 correct answers: Band 9
• 37-38 correct answers: Band 8.5 And so forth.

For General Training, the scale is slightly different.

• Your band score for the Reading section depends on the number of correct answers you provide.

Writing Section:

• In the Writing section, your performance is evaluated based on specific criteria, such as task achievement, coherence and cohesion, lexical resource, and grammatical range and accuracy.
• Each criterion is assessed and assigned a band score, which is then averaged to determine your overall band score for the Writing section.

Speaking Section:

• Similarly, the Speaking section is assessed based on criteria like fluency and coherence, lexical resource, grammatical range and accuracy, and pronunciation.
• Each criterion is scored individually, and your scores are averaged to determine your overall band score for the Speaking section.

Overall Band Score:

• Once you have band scores for each section, your overall band score is calculated by averaging these scores.
• The overall score is rounded to the nearest 0.5 or whole number.
